Abstract

This case report describes a naso-septal schwannoma found in the right nasal cavity in our patient. Sinonasal schwannomas are rare, of which the septal origin is uncommon. Computed tomography (CT) of paranasal sinuses had shown complete opacification of the right nasal cavity and subsequent blockage of the right ethmoid and frontal sinuses. Our patient underwent endoscopic sinonasal surgery to remove the tumor, and the outcome was successful with no complications. Histopathology results turned out to be sinonasal schwannoma. Immunohistochemistry by S-100 had confirmed the diagnosis. Surgeons and pathologists need to be aware of the uncommon sites of occurrence of schwannomas and potential pitfalls in the diagnosis and management.
